Cheltenham Custom Framing is a family owned and operated framing and imaging company that has been in business for over 50 years. Formerly called Mentone Art Centre, we were located at Thrift Park Shopping Centre (corner Nepean Hwy and Lower Dandenong Road).
Since our relocation to Cheltenham (right opposite the train station in Charman Road) in early 2006, our services were expanded to include photographic restoration. In July 2010 we moved around the corner into Station Rd (across from Foodworks) and have further expanded our services to include Graphic Design, Digital Enhancement, Delivery, Interior Wall Design, Picture Hanging and many others. In addition we can provide skilled photographers for portraits, events, weddings and corporate occasions.
Current owners Jacques and Linda Mellon are dedicated to giving their customers the best result, every time. They pride themselves on high standards of quality and service – no job is too big or too small.
Jacques has honed his Image Editing and Enhancement skills over many years of working on his own family’s extensive collection of damaged and faded photographs. This experience combined with study in all aspects of retouching makes him an expert in the field of photographic restoration.
Our senior Framer, has over 30 years experience in the framing industry. Combined, our expertise in design and framing is unrivalled.
This is a photograph of our previous location at 280 Charman Rd Cheltenham in 1909. It housed a small photographers studio which also served as a cab stand. The view of Charman Rd is taken from atop a pine tree at the Primary School. The view takes in the Cheltenham Shops and a cricket field behind Station St where the multi-level carpark and the Fujitsu Building now stand. We re-located from there to Shop 4 / 16 Station Road in July 2010 due to a redevelopment of the site into a multi-unit apartment complex.
